WHAT
3rd-8th Grade Students Work in Small Teams to Learn to Build and Program VEX IQ Robots for Participation in Two Regional Competitions Run by Parent Volunteer Mentors assisted by Warrior Robotics Team Members.
WHEN/WHERE
The club will meet either Wednesdays or Thursdays from 5:30-7:15 pm in the school gym Starting Sept. 18th. The season generally runs from September-the end of January with some teams earning the opportunity to qualify for the State tournament.
THE GAME
This year’s VEX IQ Game is Rapid Relay Go Online to Watch a Video Explanation of the Game and to learn more about Competitive VEX Robotics.
TO SIGN UP
Go to the school website to find the posted online signup. Students must register by Friday, Sept. 6th to be placed on teams.
COST
The cost for each student participating is $100 which pays for tournament registration fees and a club shirt. Payment needs to be made online by Friday, Sept. 6th so that grade-level teams can be formed prior to the first club meeting. Parents assist with any
CALENDAR
Teams will be assigned either to meet on Wednesday nights or Thursday nights from 5:30-7:30 pm. An optimal night can be selected upon registration. Our major tournament will be on Saturday, December 7th in Rice Lake. Some Wednesday nights will be reserved for league competition with Rice Lake Middle School. Please select your night upon signup. Some teams will compete in a Saturday, January tournament in Whitehall, WI.
TEAM SELECTION
Teams will be formed in elementary and middle school divisions by parent mentors.

Robotics Summer Camp
WHAT /When/Where:
Jeremy “Pete” Peterson and high school Warrior Robotics students will host a four-day VEX IQ camp for 3rd-8th graders. The camp will be held on Tuesday, June 18th-Friday June 21st. Campers will be separated into beginner and advanced levels. The camp will be held in the St. Joseph School gym.
Beginner Camp (Incoming 3rd grade and 4th grade) | 8:30 am – 11:30 am
The beginner campers are for incoming (24-25 school year) 3rd-grade and 4th-grade students as well as any student completely new to VEX IQ robotics. The focus will be on gaining comfort with the VEX IQ Code and building strategies. Both students who participated last year as well as new students who want to try robotics but are not necessarily committed yet to the competitive club should sign up. New campers will meet from 8:30 am-11:30 am on camp days.
Advanced Camp (Incoming 5th-8th graders) | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Advanced campers are incoming 5th-8th graders who are committed to being on a competitive team next year. The focus will be on advanced building strategies. Students will be teamed by how they will compete during the 24-25 season and will be focused on getting a first draft of their competition robot ready for a mini-competition on the last day of the camp. Advanced Campers will meet from 1:00-4:00 pm.
