Middle School Religion
How long have you been teaching at SJS and what is your educational background?
I earned my BA in Political Science and Justice and Peace Studies from the University of St. Thomas, and an MA and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame. I started teaching at St. Joseph School in 2025.
Why did I become a teacher?
I love teaching because I love learning! I learn something new every day and get to help others learn and discover their passions.
Why do I love working at SJS?
SJS was foundational in my own education and life, so I am thrilled to be able to help offer a similar experience to the next generation of SJS students. It’s a great place to learn about the world, yourself, and God’s plan for your life.
What does student success look like to me?
To me, success is when students challenge themselves to do difficult tasks that take them out of their comfort zones. Growth happens through trying new things, testing what we think we know and can do, and sometimes having to try again and again.
Favorite Sports Team or Hobby?
I enjoy music, reading, and spending time with my family. I’m also a long-suffering Minnesota Vikings fan.

Matthew 16:24-25 - Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
