Check out this Alumni Spotlight!
Tesa Alderman (2008 graduate) just helped to coach her girls’ basketball team, the Morton Junior College girls team to the NJCAA National Championship game this past weekend (March 19-20) .
She attributes much of her success and love of the game to her former SJS coach and teacher, Mrs. Christie Nielsen.
Congratulations to Tesa and her team! Thank you to Mrs. Christie Nielsen for continuing to inspire our youth and share your love of basketball with the kids!

What a week and experience!
Thank you for all of the support and messages that everyone has sent throughout this week!
We were the #7 seed with the NJCAA D2 National Tournament.
Our first game was against #10 Union County, we battled through to make it to Elite 8.
We then upset #2 Johnson County who was the number one team in the country for weeks throughout the season. Our girls fought and came out to a huge 22-6 lead out of the gate.
Moving onto then upsetting #3 CCBC Essex who was 34-0, third in the country. Led the nation in 3 pointers. They averaged 101 points a game. We held them to 9 3’s and 72 points while we countered them with 18 3’s.
We made it to the National Title game last night against #1 Kirkwood. Our girls battled, we’re determined and disciplined although we fell short 49-44.
Kirkwood had one hell of a season and game. Hats off to you!
A HUGE congrats to all of these girls right here for battling all week, being disciplined and now we get to leave #2 in the country.
I can’t put into words how proud I am to have been able to coach this team. How proud I am of each and every one of these girls.
Time to take a few days off, get relaxed and then right back to work! We’ll see you next year Port Huron
